Termites are especially problematic in Florida because of the warm, moist climate that allows termite colonies to grow and thrive without seasonal disruptions. Subterranean termites, in particular, can build extensive underground colonies and access structures through the soil, while drywood termites infest wood directly. Florida’s long coastline and frequent hurricanes also contribute to termite problems by damaging wood structures and creating ideal nesting conditions.
