Section 83.51 of the Florida Statutes outlines the landlord’s obligation to maintain rental premises. It requires landlords to comply with applicable building, housing, and health codes and to maintain structural components and plumbing in good repair. Additionally, for dwellings other than single-family homes or duplexes, landlords must make reasonable provisions for pest control, among other things.
