Wood-boring beetles and termites are not the same. Wood-boring beetles, such as powderpost beetles, lay their eggs in wood, and the larvae bore through the wood as they develop. Termites, on the other hand, live in colonies and consume wood for nutrition, often causing extensive damage. Both pests damage wood, but their behavior, biology, and treatment methods differ.
