Do Drywood Termites Only Come Out At Night?
Drywood termites are not strictly nocturnal. They are most visible during their swarming season, which can occur during the day or night, depending on the species. Swarming happens when winged reproductive termites leave the colony to mate and establish new colonies. This typically occurs after rain and in warm, humid conditions. Outside of swarming events, drywood termites remain hidden inside the wood they infest.
